Grey, Red and Black Abstract Mani

I wanted to do a fun abstract pattern to go with a black, white and grey tie-dye dress that I wore today. This is what I came up with:

Grey, Red, and Black Abstract Mani

For this manicure, I used Nubar Citadel, a light gray creme polish, as the base for the stamped fingers. I then stamped an abstract texture pattern over it using a dark gray creme polish, OPI's "Liv" in the Gray.  The texture patters used were from ÜberChic Beauty Über Mini plates 'Texture-licious', and 'Texture-licious 3'. The two accent nails are painted red with OPI 'Let Your Love Shine'. I also added some cute red heart decals over my stamped index and pinky fingers, to tie the look together.

I also did a slight modification of the mani on my other hand:

Grey, Red and Black Abstract Mani

It's essentially the same design, but I double-stamped the nail stamped fingers with another texture pattern in black - Bundle Monster 'Straight Up Black' stamping polish. The texture pattern I used to top the design was from ÜberChic Beauty Über Mini plates 'Texture-licious' 4. This design more closely resembled the tie-dyed dress that I used as inspiration, but I liked both versions and couldn't bring myself to just pick one! 😄

I really enjoyed creating this manicure! It was a lot of fun to design, and a lot of fun to wear!

Grey Mani with Pink Splatter Glitter

Today I have a quick and easy glitter manicure to share:

This manicure uses Rimmel's 'Grey Matter' as a base, under a coat of Claire's Cosmetics's Splatter glitter polish in the colorway 'Paparazzi'. 'Paparazzi' was featured on the blog before as part of a manicure I did for my 'Project Polish', you can click here for that entry.

The whole impetus behind this manicure was actually to give 'Paparazzi' one more chance before deciding whether or not to declutter it. The polish is quite old, and it has gone a little gloopy. On top of that, the colorway is pretty limiting, in that it's hard to think of base colors that it would look good with. And finally, the polish isn't really my cup of tea anymore. Because of this, I've decided part with this polish.

Rimmel 'Grey Matter'

Today I have a swatch to share of Rimmel 60 Seconds nail polish line in color number 805, 'Grey Matter'.

This is a medium grey creme polish that does in fact dry rather rapidly. Since it is pretty quick-drying, I found it necessary to be very deliberate with application to get a smooth coat. I found it worked best when I worked quickly, and was careful not to overwork the polish. When I did this, it self-leveled quite nicely and dried to a decent finish.

Pale Translucent Grey and White Matte Glitter Mani

Today I have another 'Impromptu Mani' to share:

Soft Shade Glitter Manicure

Polishes Used
OPI ‘My Pointe Exactly’
OPI ‘Pirouette My Whistle’

These two polishes have always been one of my favourite pairings from the OPI New York City Ballet Soft Shades Collection (originally from spring 2012). 'My Pointe Exactly' is quite unique, as I don't think I've seen very many translucent light grey jelly polishes. It adds a bit of personality and edge to the classic soft, sheer manicure.  And then there's 'Pirouette My Whistle', which is one of the most amazing glitters I've ever seen. It's so original! A muted, delicate glitter that adds sparkle, shine, and dimension without being eye-catching, or overpowering the finished look - OPI truly outdid themselves with this one!

Now that the nice whether is here, I've been really busy, and haven't had a lot of time to do anything super-elaborate with my nails. I may just be featuring a lot of quick and easy manicures for the next little while! Hopefully, I might be able to squeeze in some nail art here and there. I already have a few ideas lined up, but very little time in which to do them! Perhaps I can find some time on the weekends.

Grey, Dark Teal, and Blue 60's Print Mani

Today I have a very simple stamping manicure to share with you.

To add a little something extra into the basic design, I decided to add a third color by doing a bit of dotting on the middle finger, and I used the advanced stamping technique to incorporate the third colour into the stamp on my ring finger.

In retrospect, I wish I had used the stamp on my middle finger on all of my nails for a fun, uniform print. I really love how that print looks with these 3 colours! Here is the information on the colours I used:

Polishes Used:
Plate Used:
Sally Hansen Insta-Dri ‘Navy Fleet’
Moyou London Time Traveller Collection:
Sally Hansen Insta-Dri ‘Brisk Blue’
                 Back to the 60’s - 04
Nubar ‘Marble Tower’

Overall, I really like this manicure. It's very similar to another one I did recently, and absolutely adored. I was also pleasantly surprised with how much I really like these 60's inspired patterns from the Moyou London 'Back to the 60's' plate 4. It was one of those situations where I mainly bought the plate for one pattern that I decided I simply had to have - a classic quatrefoil pattern - and was just sort of impartial to the other patterns on the plate. Initially when I was designing this manicure, I reached for the plate to use the quatrefoil pattern, but then the 2 patterns that I ended up using caught my eye, so I switched gears and used them instead!

Grey, Orange, and Blue Water Marble and Stamping Mani

Due to the huge supply of water marble nail decals that I whipped up recently, today, I have yet another water marble manicure to share!

In addition to the water marble decal on my ring finger, I also did a little stamping and dotting on my middle finger. I can't even emphasize how much I really love this manicure. I like how toned down, yet fun and interesting the final look is. I would definitely say this is one of my favourite looks I've done so far this year.

I'm really excited about designing more mixed manicures like this one using my remaining water marble decals along with other nail art techniques. This has been so much fun, and I'm loving the results!
