KB Shimmer 'Funky Cold Patina'

In my last post on KB Shimmer's 'Funky Cold Patina', I mentioned that I had plans to do a look inspired by that polish. 'Funky Cold Patina' got me thinking about some manicures I had done in the past based on copper patinas. Now, I typically don't like to repeat the exact same nail art manicure more than once, but for today's look I have decided to do the third incarnation of one of my favourite manicures ever - the 'Verdigris Mani'. I'll include a link to a post where I talk about the two previous versions that I did, and give a little more background on the manicure, right here.

This time around, I wanted to do a copper relief effect for the base copper parts of the manicure, and then put little spotches of light teal over it, to simulate copper relief art that has just started to develop a patina. To make the copper relief effect, I stamped a damasque pattern from Lina Nail Art Supplies 'You're a Damasque!' plate 02 using a chocolate brown polish, 'Lady Godiva', over an amazing copper polish, 'Say it Ain't Soho'.  I then double stamped a texture image from Lina Nail Art Supplies 'Make Your Mark', plate 02 in light turquoise to create the verdigris effect. The other nails are painted with 'Funky Cold Patina'.

I really like how the manicure turned out, but if I could do it again, I would find a way to incorporate some of the copper polish onto some or all of the turquoise nails: perhaps making the ring finger an accent nail that incorporated both looks on one nail, or even just having 3 copper/effect nails by painting the pinky finger the same as the index and middle fingers... Below, I've included a couple additional shots of this manicure.

Heart Stamped Skittles Mani

Today I have a cute skittles mani with a stamped accent nail to share.

I'm ecstatic about the way this manicure turned out. I love the colours together and I think the finished look is so much fun. For the stamped accent nail, I made a stamped gradient by filling the stamping image with drops of both coloured polishes. The dark metallic pink polish 'The Lace is on' and the dark metallic blue polish 'Front Page Worthy' combined to form a lovely metallic purple where the two polishes blended. I stamped the image over the light gray polish 'Go with the Flowy' used as a base.

I think the plate I used was Lina Nail Art Supplies 'Make Your Mark 07', but I am no longer 100 per cent sure, as I forgot to take note of it or take a picture to remind myself. If I figure it out at a later time, I'll try to remember to come back and update this page. All in all, this was a very successful manicure, and I absolutely loved wearing it!

Purple and Silver Negative Space Stamping Glitter Mani

Today I have a glitter manicure to share, stamped with a silver negative space stamping image, resulting in a final look made up of full nail glitter patterns on a silver background:

Purple and Silver Negative Space Stamping Glitter Mani using Nicole by OPI 'Gone Wishin'', and Sally Hansen 'Silver Sweep'

I like the finished result - very blingy, but also very wearable on my short nails. Since I used a micro-glitter polish for the base of the manicure, I made sure to use a peel off base coat to make the manicure easier to remove when the time comes (OPI 'Glitter Off' base coat).

Gone Wishin' is one of the polishes I want to use up as part of an upcoming 'Project Polish' challenge that I mentioned earlier in my 'Blue and Gold Manicure using Quo by Orly 'Celestial Star' post. This is a great manicure for using up a glitter polish because I had to do a full manicure (2 coats, all nails) as the base to stamp over.  Gone Wishin' is a mix of blue and purple micro-glitters, but since it's hard to see that in the picture above, I've included some additional bottle shots below.

I painted the nails on both of my hands slightly differently for this manicure. On my left hand, I used a circular themed full nail stamping image from the Lina Nail Art Supplies 'Totally Negative - 01' plate for all nails except for my ring finger. On my right hand, I used a floral themed full nail stamping image from the same plate for all nails except for my ring finger. For my ring fingers, I chose a separate image that allowed more of the glitter to shine through, and stamped it on both fingers as an accent. I've included some additional shots of the manicure below showing these details.

As I mentioned earlier, I hope to be using Gone Wishin' a lot more in the coming months, and so far, I'd say I'm off to a good start!

Navy Blue and Gold Mani using OPI 'Holidazed Over You'

This manicure was created using various images from Lina Nail Art Supplies Stamping Plate 'You're a Damasque! - 01'.  I really like how the look turned out:

I'm starting to realize that I don't really enjoy wearing dark polishes on their own these days. However, I really love how dramatic they look when paired with silver or gold metallic stamped images. The dark base provides the perfect high contrast background for the beautiful metallic images.

I did something similar with my 'Burgundy and Gold Mani', as well as my 'Navy and Silver Dot Design Mani'.

Here are some more images of the finished look:

For this manicure, I got to use yet another untried polish - OPI 'Holidazed Over You'. 'Holidazed...' is a very dark navy blue jelly from the OPI 2017 Holiday collection: 'Love OPI, XOXO'. The polish is absolutely stunning. I love the finish! The highly pigmented navy blue hue combined with the transparent jelly formula give the polish so much dimension. It looks super squishy and super shiny - like polished onyx, or a pool of ink.

Purple and Gold Mani using Revlon 'Plum Attraction'

The manicure that I am sharing today was really quick and easy to do:

Purple nails stamped with images from Lina Nail Art Supplies plate 'Make Your Mark - 04'.
Purple and Gold Manicure featuring Revlon 'Plum Attraction'

This look is a basic manicure with a couple of stamped images. For the stamping I used images from Lina Nail Art Supplies stamping plate 'Make Your Mark - 04'.  The ring finger was double stamped with 2 images for added texture.  I used my favourite gold polish for stamping, Sally Hansen Color Foils in 'Liquid Gold'.

I wanted to do something simple for this manicure, because I really like the plum base polish I used (Revlon 'Plum Attraction'), and wanted it to show through.
