December 6th Manicure

Today is the 25th anniversary of a very tragic event in Canadian history.  On December 6th, 1989, 14 young women were gunned down at the École Polytechnique in Montreal, just because they were women. The gunman's act of violence was targeted at what he perceived to be 'feminists' - women in an engineering school.

The anniversary of this day has become a time not only to remember the victims of the École Polytechnique Massacre, but also all victims of gender-based violence. In 1991, Canadian Parliament designated December 6th as the National day of Remembrance and Action on Violence against Women. The day is also known as 'White Ribbon Day'.

Today's manicure is simple, but fitting for the occasion:

Nail stamping Manicure featuring translucent white nails with a subtle white and silver glitter, and a translucent black ring finger accent nail stamped with a white ribbon
